Taxonomy
Nautilus schartimiensis was named by Janischewsky (1900). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Shartymka River (Janischewsky collection), which is in a Bashkirian marine horizon in the Russian Federation.

It was recombined as Planetoceras schartimiense by Shimanskiy (1967) and Korn et al. (2022).
