Taxonomy
Planetoceras janischevskyi was named by Shimanskiy (1967). Its type specimen is PIN 1513/760, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Shartymka River, which is in a Bashkirian marine horizon in the Russian Federation.
