R. S. Hill 1989Leaves symmetrical, widely ovate. Leaf base obtuse to broadly and shallowly cordate, apex acute. Margin entire. Petiole unknown. Venation pattern basal actinodromous. Stomata confined to areoles on the lower epidermis, oriented at random. Subsidiary cells actinomorphic. Cuticular ledges overarch guard cells on outer surface. Trichome bases with a large, thickened, circular foot cell and radial or unmodified basal cells occur on both epidermises. Trichome basal cell thickened into a papilla-like
structure. Apical cell long, thinly cutinised, tapering to apex.
