Plaesiomys bellistriatus
Taxonomy
Plaesiomys bellistriatus was named by Wang (1949) [= Dinorthis subquadrata (Hall). Bassler 1932, P1. 24, fig. 14.
= Plaesiomys subquadratus (Hall). Greger and Born 1936, Pl. 1, figs. 13, 14.]. Its type specimen is SUI 1820 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Southeast quarter of Section 25, Auburn Township, which is in a Richmondian carbonate shale in the Brainard Formation of Iowa.
