Taxonomy
Dimorphoceras scaliger was named by Schmidt (1934).

It was synonymized subjectively with Kazakhoceras hawkinsi by Ruzhentsev and Bogoslovskaya (1971); it was recombined as Kazakhoceras scaliger by Korn and Titus (2011).
