Polydolops crassus

Taxonomy
Polydolops crassus was named by Ameghino (1902). Its type specimen is MACN 10349, a mandible (fragment of a left mandibular ramus with P3-M3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Barranca south of Lago Colhue-Huapi, Gran Barranca, which is in an Eocene terrestrial claystone in the Sarmiento Formation of Argentina.

It was recombined as Polydolops thomasi crassus by Simpson (1948); it was synonymized subjectively with Polydolops thomasi by Marshall (1982).
