Banksieaephyllum incisum was named by Blackburn (1981) [Type material and locality. Holotype, S- 1884, S-1885, S-1886 (counterparts). Paratype, S-2201. Housed in the South Australian State Herbarium (AD). Clay lens, quarry exposure, North Maslin Sands, Maslin Bay, South Australia.]. It is not extant.

D. T. Blackburn 1981Leaves bilateral, pinnately lobed, lobes acute and forwardly directed. Apical and basal sides of lobes convex, sinuses acute. Secondary venation craspedodromous, 4 nerves per lobe. Stomates brachyparacytic, superficial. Hairs on both surfaces bicellular, cylindrical, supported by 2 to 4(-6) thick walled, epidermal cells. Upper epidermal cells with radially striate cuticle. Vertically transcurrent plates of sclerenchyma present.
