Taxonomy
Anthracocrinus was named by Strimple and Watkins (1955) [Sepkoski's age data: O Cara-l]. It is not extant. Its type is Anthracocrinus primitivus.

It was assigned to Anthracocrinidae by Ausich (1998); and to Diplobathrida by Sepkoski (2002).
