Taxonomy
Shlyginia rectangularis was named by Percival (2009). Its type specimen is MMF 44959, a valve (ventral valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is L142. Paling Yard Creek, Bowan Park, which is in an Eastonian shallow subtidal limestone in the Quondong Limestone Formation of Australia.
