Epicanites sandbergeri
Taxonomy
Paraprolecanites sandbergeri was named by Schmidt (1925). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UTBEG 153-T-6, San Saba highway, 5.6 km east and 1.4 km south of Rochelle, which is in a Moscovian marine shale in the Smithwick Formation of Texas. It is the type species of Epicanites.
It was recombined as Epicanites sandbergeri by Ruzhentsev and Bogoslovskaya (1971).
