Taxonomy
Paladin simulator was named by Haas et al. (1980). Its type specimen is GPIBo/HaHa 59, an exoskeleton (complete trilobite), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kohe Nazuk, Behsud, which is in an Artinskian marine limestone in Afghanistan.
It was recombined as Ditomopyge simulator by Owens (2003); it was recombined as Simulopaladin simulator by Fortey and Heward (2015).
