corolla lobes. Pollen tricolporate. Petals fused basally, aestivation contorted. Rudimentary gynoecium sometimes present. Pistillate flowers unknown. Leaves entire, narrow elliptic to suborbiculate; venation pinnate brochidodromous, areoles imperfectly developed. Cells of upper epidermis isodiametric; cuticle without ornament. Cells of lower epidermis isodiametric; cuticle with surface ornamentation composed of numerous irregular ridges. Stomata restricted to lower epidermis, actinocytic; subsidiary cells with single large papilla that overarches guard cells. Fruits and wood unknown.
