Opsiocrinus was named by Kier (1952) [Sepkoski's age data: D Give-l]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Opsiocrinidae.

It was assigned to Opsiocrinidae by Ubaghs et al. (1978); and to Diplobathrida by Sepkoski (2002).
