Taxonomy
Cravenoceras gairense was named by Currie (1954). Its type specimen is H. M. S. 11160, a shell, and it is a mold.

It was recombined as Stenoglaphyrites gairensis by Ruzhentsev and Bogoslovskaya (1971).
