Taxonomy
Cenoceras thiollieri was named by Tinant (1998). Its type specimen is ML 8617, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is La Verpillière (Isère, Upper Toarcian), which is in a Toarcian carbonate limestone in France.
