Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
R. S. Hill and H. E. Merrifield 1993Only part of the apical half of the leaf known. Secondary veins arise at a relatively oblique angle from the primary vein, and run more or less straight to the intramarginal vein. Secondary veins widely spaced, intersecondary and random reticulate tertiary veins prominent. Leaf surface poorly defined. Stomates are restricted to one leaf surface, randomly arranged. Occasional very large stomates, which may occur over veins, are scattered amongst ordinary stomates. Subsidiary cell arrangement indeterminable, epidermal cell walls sinuous. On non-stomatiferous surface epidermal cell walls highly sinuous. Trichomes absent from both leaf surfaces, although depressions on the non-stomatiferous surface may represent the position of glands.
