Dichocrinus was named by Munster (1839) [Sepkoski's age data: C Tour-l C Mosc-u Sepkoski's reference number: 660]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Dichocrininae by Webster and Jell (1999); and to Monobathrida by Sepkoski (2002).
