Taxonomy
Tropidoleptus fascifer was named by Kayser (1897). It is the type species of Castellaroina.

It was recombined as Strophodonta fascifer by Castellaro (1959); it was recombined as Eostropheodonta (Castellaroina) fascifer by Amos (1972); it was recombined as Eostropheodonta fascifer by Boucot et al. (1972); it was recombined as Castellaroina fascifer by Benedetto and Montoya (2015).
