Taxonomy
Glyptocrinus was named by Hall (1847) [Sepkoski's age data: O Cara-m S Ludl Sepkoski's reference number: 248]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Glyptocrinidae.

It was assigned to Glyptocrinidae by Ausich (1998); and to Monobathrida by Sepkoski (2002).
