Megaliocrinus was named by Moore and Laudon (1942) [Sepkoski's age data: C Bash-l C Mosc-u]. It is not extant. Its type is Megaliocrinus aplatus.

It was assigned to Paragaricocrinidae by Moore and Strimple (1973); and to Monobathrida by Sepkoski (2002).
