R. S. Hill and R. J. Carpenter 1989Ovulate cone with four valvate scales in two pairs of differing size, with the smaller pair being about 75% as long as the larger pair. Large scales about 4 mm long, 1-1.15 mm wide. Each scale bears a tubercle abaxially just below the apex, which is about 0.5 mm long and about 0.5 mm wide. The large scales are subtended by imbricate leaves and below that by opposite pairs of leaves in a three dimensional arrangement.
