Paragaricocrinus was named by Yakovlev (1934) [Sepkoski's age data: P Guad Sepkoski's reference number: 2]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Paragaricocrinidae.
It was assigned to Monobathrida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Paragaricocrinidae by Ubaghs et al. (1978) and Webster and Webster (2012).
