Araucaria fimbriatus was named by Hill (1990). It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is LRR1-1906.

R. S. Hill 1990 | Leaves spirally arranged, 19-23 mm long, 6-8 mm wide. Numerous parallel veins present. Leaf amphistomatous. Stomatal plugs with smooth surface, highly extruded. Stomatal orientation predominantly parallel to long axis of leaf. Guard cells level with hyodermis, subsidiary cells usually four, sometimes five or six. Cuticle on subsidiary cells thick, granular, outer flange rim unthickened, irregular in outline. Flange between guarde and subsidiary cells smooth, inconspicuous. Small polar extensions sometimes present. Flange between guard cells smoorh, not heavily thickened, polar extensions absent. Cuticle on guard cells granular, with a very prominent irregular cuticular fringe running the length of the guard cell. Epidermal cell walls not sinuous, buttressing absent. Cuticle thick and sometimes partially enclosing inner epidermal cell wall surface. |
