Clenia minuscula

Taxonomy
Clenia minuscula was named by Ameghino (1904). Its type specimen is MACN 52-381, a mandible (fragment of a left mandibular ramus with m1-2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gran Barranca - southern cliff of lake Colhué Huapí, which is in a Colhuehuapian terrestrial horizon in the Sarmiento Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Clenia.

It was synonymized subjectively with Microbiotherium divisum by Marshall (1982).

Abello 2013Di ers from other Microbiotheria in the following combination of characters: lingually inclined protoco- nid in m1–m2; hypoconid of m1–m3 slightly salient labially; paraconid of m1–m2 antero-posteriorly compressed; horizontal ramus proportionally low; only slight di erence in size between M/m3 and M/m 4, postcristid of m1–m2 transverselly oriented with respect to the dental axis.
