Taxonomy
Encoiloceras balatonicum was named by Vörös (2001). Its type specimen is HNHM M.99.105, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Aszofo I section, bed 5, which is in a Pelsonian deep-water limestone in the Felsoörs Formation of Hungary.
