Psilatricolpites pulcherrimum was named by Freile (1972) [Measurement of others specimens: (polar diameter) Length 10(14)16 µ; (equatorial diameter) 9(12)15 µ. 30 specimens. Others samples examinated: Preparación # 734, coord. 45.5-97; 25.5-97.3. Prep. # 737, coord. 34.4-09.7. Prep. # 738, coord. 31.1-96.9; 42.7-101.4. ]. It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Holotype: P.m L. P. # 734, coord. 27.7-102.2., a microspore. Its type locality is Pozo T-137, nivel 720.50-721.75 m., which is in a Maastrichtian/Eocene terrestrial sandstone/claystone in the Cerro Dorotea Formation of Argentina.

C. Freile 1972Grano de polen tricolpado, de contorno prolado a subprolado. Los colpos se extienden hasta los polos. Poros no muy evidentes. Exina de 1 µ de espesor, se adelgaza hacia los polos. Ornamentación microgranulada a microfoveolada, muy tenue, que no llega hasta los polos, que son lisos.
