Stomiocrinus was named by Wanner (1937) [Sepkoski's age data: P Leon-m P Guad-u Sepkoski's reference number: 2]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Camptocrininae by Webster and Jell (1992); to Monobathrida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Dichocrinidae by Ubaghs et al. (1978) and Webster and Webster (2012).
