Dohrniphora transita was named by Brues (1923). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic amber, Konigsberg collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation.
It was recombined as Paraspiniphora transita by Brues (1939); it was recombined as Spiniphora transita by Evenhuis (1994).
