Catatonocrinus was named by Brett (1981) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ldov-l Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Calceocrinidae by Ausich (1998); and to Disparida by Sepkoski (2002).
