Cunctocrinus was named by Kesling and Sigler (1969) [Sepkoski's age data: D Give]. It is not extant. Its type is Cunctocrinus fortunatus.

It was assigned to Calceocrinidae by Kesling and Sigler (1969) and Ausich (1998); and to Disparida by Sepkoski (2002).
