Taxonomy
Crassatella ampla was named by Zittel (1863). Its type specimen is NHMW 1865/XXVII/145/1-2, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Crassatellites amplus by Harris (1897); it was recombined as Eucrassatella ampla by Collins et al. (2014).
