following combination of features: moderate size plastron divided by a transverse hinge joint formed along the hyohypoplastral suture (entoplastronmay also contribute); plastral lobes ligamentally attached to carapace and marked by a low rugose longitudinal ridges on the bridge portions; plastral articular areas on the bridge peripherals (P4-7) truncated and nearly smooth; nuchalwith a pair of strong costiformprocesses that span P1 and insert into P2 viscerally; some distal rib ends hooked; rib ends of C1-5 cross the sutures of two peripherals medially; extragulars may be present; entoplastron distinctly longer than wide; and no plastral caudal notch. |
