Taxonomy
Favitricolporites australis was named by Archangelsky (1973). It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Holotype: p.m. 1007; coord. 31.7/107.2. Stored at Museo de La Plata, Paleobotanical division., a microspore (Pollen grain). Its type locality is Cerro Bororó, which is in a Danian terrestrial horizon in Argentina.

S. Archangelsky 1973Grano subprolado, con los colpos llegando cerca de los polos; poros difusos, poco visibles, 3-5 µ de alto por un ancho similar. Exina compuesta por dos capas, 1.5 µ de espesor, semitectada; sexina pilada; báculas visibles, coronadas por capitae que se fusionan lateralmente formando un retículo uniforme, con lúmenes hasta 1 µ de diámetro.
