Taxonomy
Septomena senecta was named by Roomusoks (2004). Its type specimen is TUG 42-114, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Paldiski, lowermost Beds Väo Fm., which is in a Lasnamagi marine horizon in the Väo Formation of Estonia.
