Taxonomy
Myelodactylus was named by Hall (1852) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ldov-u D Give-l Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Myelodactylidae, Myelodactylacea.

It was assigned to Myelodactylidae by Ubaghs et al. (1978); and to Disparida by Sepkoski (2002).
