Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
R. S. Hill 1991Cupule 4-valved, valves 5 mm long (range 3.5-5.5 mm), 1.2 mm wide (range 0.8-1.4 mm). Peduncle 1.6 mm long (range 1.3-1.8 mm), straight, swollen at base. Cupule valves woody, gaping when mature, free for their entire length, although fused into pairs above the point at which the four valves fuse. Three lamellae on each cupule valve. Basal lamellae arise at the point of insertion of the peduncle, small, membranous, entire, non-glandular, often five in number. Second lamella arises about halfway along the cupule valve and the third near the apex. These lamellae are possibly incomplete. Two trimerous fruits probably flank a central dimerous fruit within the cupule.
