Taxonomy
Plesiospitidiscus breskovskii was named by Cecca et al. (1998). Its type specimen is Museum of Cagli PE 376, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Series PE, Hill E, Monte Petrano, which is in a Hauterivian offshore lime mudstone in the Maiolica Formation of Italy.
