Taxonomy
Synbathocrinus was named by Phillips (1836) [Sepkoski's age data: D m P Guad-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Synbathocrinidae.

It was assigned to Disparida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Synbathocrinidae by Webster (1987) and Webster et al. (2009).
