Taxonomy
Virucrinus was named by Rozhnov (1990) [Sepkoski's age data: O Llde O Cara-m]. It is not extant. Its type is Pentagonocyclicus kegelensis.

It was assigned to Eustenocrinidae by Ausich (1998); and to Disparida by Sepkoski (2002).
