Bathronocrinus was named by Strimple (1962) [Sepkoski's age data: C Mosc-u P Wc]. It is not extant. Its type is Bathronocrinus turioformis.

It was assigned to Laudonocrinidae by Pabian and Rushlau (2002); and to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002).
