Taxonomy
Neogastroplites kamchatkensis was named by Alabushev and Wiedmann (1994). Its type specimen is GPIT 1733/1, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ajnyn River, Talovka Basin (Lower Cenomanian), which is in a Cenomanian marine siliciclastic in the Russian Federation.
