Taxonomy
Dendrocrinus was named by Hall (1852) [Sepkoski's age data: O Cara-l S Ludl Sepkoski's reference number: 248]. It is the type genus of Dendrocrinidae.

It was assigned to Dendrocrinidae by Kolata (1976) and Ausich (1998); and to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002).
