Leptaena depressa visbyensis was named by Hoel (2005) [= pt Leptaena rhomboidalis WILCKENS.- BARRANDE 1879 : pl. 41 fig. 31 (non pl. 41 figs. 1--30, 32-38). ? Leptaena rhomboidalis (WILCKENS).- HOLTEDAHL 1916 71, pl. 12 fig. 11. Leptaena sp. BASSETT & COCKS 1974: 14, tab. 1 (listed).]. Its type specimen is SMNH Br137848, a valve (ventral valve), and it is a 3D body fossil.
