Taxonomy
Ludfordina pixis was named by Kelly (1967). Its type specimen is BU 883 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Middlehope, which is in a Gorstian marine mudstone in the Elton Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Glossoleptaena pixis by Williams et al. (2000).
