Elpasocrinus was named by Sprinkle and Wahlm (1994) [Sepkoski's age data: O Aren-l Sepkoski's reference number: 1071]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Dendrocrinidae by Ausich (1998); and to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002).
