Carnufex carolinensis
Taxonomy
Carnufex carolinensis was named by Zanno et al. (2015). Its type specimen is NCSM 21558, a partial skeleton (Partial skull, presacral vertebrae and humerus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is NCPALEO1902 - brick quarry, which is in a Carnian fluvial conglomerate/sandstone in the Pekin Formation of North Carolina. It is the type species of Carnufex.
