Gilmocrinus was named by Lauden (1933) [Sepkoski's age data: C Tour-l C Vise-l Sepkoski's reference number: 906]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Scytalocrinidae by Webster et al. (1999); and to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002).
