Taxonomy
Gissocrinus was named by Angelin (1878) [Sepkoski's age data: S Wenl P Leon-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Cyathocrinitidae by Ramsbottom (1958), Willink (1979) and Webster and Webster (2012).
