Taxonomy
Dacrycarpus microfolius was named by Jordan et al. (2011). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is OU33024, a cuticle, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is F45/f0394, middle Gore Lignite Measure, Newvale Mine, which is in an Oligocene/Miocene mire/swamp lignite in New Zealand.

G. J. Jordan et al. 2011Leaves 1-1.15 mm long, with a short mucro, dimorphic, either spirally arrayed with the free part loosely appressed to the stem or bilaterally flattened and widely spreading. Stomata paratetracytic, restricted to adaxial leaf surface in spirally arranged foliage, mostly occuring on the adaxial surface of bilaterally flattened foliage.
