Taxonomy
Cretirhynchia arcuata was named by Pettitt (1950). Its type specimen is B.M. [B.B.9991] and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mousehold pit, which is in a Campanian carbonate chalk in the Upper Chalk Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Cretirhynchia (Homaletarhynchia) arcuata by Simon and Owen (2001).
